A couple months back, vertwo was amongst one of the few local developers selected by AGI (Indonesian Game Association) to represent Indonesia in several global gaming events. As such, in August 2021, vertwo had the opportunity to attend Gamescom 2021.
The Event
Gamescom is an annual worldwide gaming event, usually held in Germany.
This year, however, due to the pandemic situation, the event was held online. Though it didn’t feel the same as meeting in person, doing things online did have its perks. For one, it definitely made the event much more accessible, especially for new developers.
vertwo’s goal in attending the event is simple: to establish connection. As a company, we have always believed in the capability of Indonesian local talents and their ability to compete on the global stage. This is why this event is perfect to kickstart a lasting relationship, especially in the gaming industry.
The Attendees
As one of the largest gaming events in the world, it is not a surprise that Gamescom is attended by many exhibitors from the gaming industry from all over the world. From big names such as EA, SEGA, Xbox; to newly-formed indie developers looking for publishers, you can find all manner of players in the gaming industry at this event.
The Meetings
The focus of this particular event can be divided into 2. The first one is to find publishers that may be interested in our new collaboration project, Cypher Grid. Additionally, there may also be publishers who are interested in localizing their games that vertwo could offer its help to. The second one is to find developers with projects that might be in need of our help, whether it be in the development process, creating game assets, or other promotional needs.
